# Manage video categories

In order to categorise your video catalogue, you have the option of mentioning "parent" categories and "daughter" categories linked to the parents.

This principle applies to VOD video courses as well as Live courses and video tutorials.

# Using an existing category

If you want to use an existing category, in the "**Coaching**" tab of your back office, click on "**Videos**", then on a video of your choice. Then click on "**Edit"**. Once in the editor, scroll down to the "**Categories**" tab, then search the list or start typing the beginning of the category in question for a quick search.

You can select several categories for a single video.

## Sub-category

In the case of a **sub-category**, it will appear with this formatting: "_parent category name_" > "_child category name_".

# Adding a new category

In the "**Coaching**" tab of your back office, click on "**Videos**", then on a video of your choice. Then click on "**Edit**". Once in the editor, scroll down to the "**Categories**" tab, then click on "**Manage categories**".

Then click on "**+ Add a category**".

All you have to do is enter the name of the category, and an image if you wish.

# Adding a new "parent" category

In the "**Coaching**" tab of your back office, click on "**Videos**", then on a video of your choice. Then click on "**Edit**". Once in the editor, scroll down to the "**Categories**" tab, then click on "**Manage categories**". Click on "**+ Add a category**", then on "**Create a parent category**".

The name of the **parent category** will then be the name of your main category, and the name of the category below it will be the name of the **sub-category**.

Remember to save to create and use categories later.
